12 Confederate Regiments rebased

And then there were 12.

Plus 4x stands of skirmishers. I've another 4 battalions worth to redo but they may wait a wee while longer.

All going well I'll be popping round to Kent's for a game of ACW Black Powder this Wednesday night

    1. Looks interesting but I'm not sure about the card system with it- Black powder suits me at present, fewer rules systems is good!

Though I am finally starting to ponder the purchase of some Bolt Action figures. Kent is keen on some Japanese so I may get some Aussies or Forgotten 14th.

    1. It should be good- I don't seem to have much luck vs Kent though

  5. Lovely looking figures and top (re-)basing work Craig.

I seem to have come in late. So you are moving from Fire and Fury to Black Powder? Why?

    1. Hi James

My intention was always to play Black Powder- the recent Gettysburg refight used Fire n Fury so we had a playtest before the weekend (but didn't really invest enough time/effort to learn the rules inside out). Alas, the weekend did nothing to sell me on FnF as a ruleset, quite the opposite in fact.

Tonights game should be interesting to see if we prefer BP after not having played for a few weeks/months

    2. Great. I/we will look forward to your report of the game and thoughts on the rules in due course!

BTW, what did you not like about Fire and Fury? Have you tried the 'regimental' version?

      Cheers,
      James

    3. for the big multiplayer the game was a bit slow for my liking- marching all day to actually roll a dice in combat at 5:30 pm, not my idea of fun- thought the company was excellent!

At the end of the day it just wasn't my cup of tea- being able to put units into march columns and get all stands of two regiments being able to attack in close combat seemed wrong on so many levels to me. However, it dd give a good "period feel" and with fewer brigades I can see it as being fun and engaging. I just don't have the time or energy to want to play it regularly.
