28mm Black Tree Design Russians

I must admit I'm not a fan of the Warlord Games plastic Russians or Germans. They are a bit too fiddly to put together and quite frankly are a pppain in the butt. Too much effort as far as I'm concerned. I do like the Perry's 8th Army and DA as they are less fiddly (no gluing individual arms and weapons, sure there is less variety but they are also much easier to work with).

So I've decided to replace th Warlord Games with Black Tree Design ones. I was a bit unsure about the BTD ranges but a search round the net unearthed some nice painted figs to ally my fears. I decided to bite the bullet and buy a few as a sample.

Last night I painted up a sample squad and was pleasantly surprised. They paint up easily, details such as belts are easy to pick out (especially after working with plastics where the details are less pronounced).  Here is the squad. I'll get Finn to paint a couple of squads when he is interested again.
 And a sniper team.

A Warlord Games MMG team- I like Warlord metals, just not such of a fan of their plastic ranges.

And an 82mm mortar crew.

  2. Great stuff! I, too, really like the BTD figures. I have no Russians but plenty of Germans and British.

I was pleasantly surprised by these figures and I too will definitely be getting more. I just had some German infantry arrive yesterday for their opposition...
