It's a jungle out there!

Experimented late lat night with making some jungle-esque bases. I made the ferns by pulling a plastic palm tree to pieces, drilling a hole in the figures' base, inserting 3-4 fronds into the hole and gluing with PVA. Not sure on the aquarium foliage- it needs to be painted tonight to dull it down a bit.

A bit more work early this evening and they are now getting there. The plants have had a few shades of highighting and some extra details added to the bases. I am much happier with the result. Here are the first two sections done.

  1. You might not need to 'dull down' the plastic foliage, fudging by these pics. Jungle greenery is apt to be pretty bright anyhow, I believe...

    1. Agree - love the multibase idea but the colour of the jungle plants is too bright and uniform for my taste

Models are great as always though!

    2. Hi Archduke- true. But they do look a bit shiny plastic-planty so need (IMO) dulled down a bit.

@ Kruger- I love your Japanese bases for your jungle fighters- and have tried to figure out what you used for foliage on yours. Mine may be a bit too uniform in colour but there is some variation in colours and textures :)

I do like the way that this style of basing has worked out though- lots of scope for interesting bases.

Did yo ever finish your Japanese?
