Borodino Update

Just off the phone talking to John regarding the 200th anniversary game this coming weekend. It should be great, he is expecting there to be over:
4300 infantry
1100 cavalry
150 guns

That should look very, very impressive.

On a more serious note, early tomorrow morning is the 2nd Anniversary of the first Christchurch earthquake. 7.1 on the Richter scale and a miracle that nobody as killed, alas they were not so fortunate in the February aftershock of 2011.

I heard last week that they had gone 8 days without a shake (after having had more than 11,000 aftershocks and tremors) so hopefully things are finally settling down. Two years on many people are still living in houses that need to be rebuilt and they are still waiting for the rebuild to kick in, and or insurance to pay out. In the meantime they are still living in limbo and many are getting increasingly frustrated with the delays, which i no doubt very understandable. Hopefully the next 12 months will see some major progress and allow those most seriously affected to get on and start rebuilding their lives.
