Borodino 2012- so it begins...

I am finally starting to get motivated towards painting something. Our Borodino game approaches (slowly) and am trying to provide the bulk of the troops for Bagration's Army which will be on one of the tables.

So I finally ordered Black Powder which is the rule set we will be using and now await its arrival, at the same time I ordered a box off Victrix Austrians to test out as I am keen to start a 28mm Austrian force soon- I'll see how they paint up but they look pretty good from what I've seen.

I have also just ordered some Russian Uhlans, Hussars and Cossacks from Front Rank and should probably get another 12x Currissiers for a third large unit for the game but I am a bit hesistant to do that as I already have 2x large units of them and don't see me using more than 2 large units in most games (except for this one). I also need to order 24x Russian Dragoons but I am going to hold off that as I do like the look of the Perry WIP one's which hopefully will be released soon.

  1. I've had a chance to read Black Powder and I think it would great for a battle of this scope. Looking forward to seeing what you do!
My favourite battle of the Napoleonic Wars btw.
